Drawing Us Into Existence

March 29 @ 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm

The CA LGBT Arts Alliance invites you to participate in “Drawing Us Into Existence,” a symposium geared towards folks seeking to delve into drawing/illustrating/publishing their works on and about QTBIPOC communities. Three authors/illustrators – féi hernandez, Mariah-Rose Marie, and Polaris Castillo – whose works center QTBIPOC identities through deeply personal lenses, will candidly share their career paths with a panel facilitated by Mara K. Martinesz-Hewitt, AMFT, followed by a Q&A. Afterwards, attendees will be invited to join the workshops hosted by the artists and have a chance to receive feedback on their work and more.

Our goal for this symposium is that by having illustrators share their knowledge and wisdom, the QTBIPOC community will not only see but envision a future in the arts as a career. It is also our hope that this event conveens people who will intersect and strengthen ties amongst their diverse communities. And in turn the QTBIPOC community in Los Angeles will continue to spring to action.

The FREE in-person event is hosted by FLUX and slated for Saturday, March 29th at the Connie Norman Trans Empowerment Center.
